The System Engineer II defines, designs and implements network communications and solution improvements. Proposes and implements system enhancements (software and hardware updates) that will improve the performance and reliability of the system. Manages the load configuration of a central data communication processor and makes recommendations for purchase or upgrade of data networks. Coordinates terminal orders and cable installation, network system planning, upgrading, monitoring, testing and servicing. Approves action requests and specifies purchase requirement. Negotiates and places orders with common carriers.



Your Impact

    Assist in administrating mostly Windows based server platform infrastructure. Intermediate knowledge of Linux systems is required.
  • Assist in monitoring and maintaining backup and recovery requirements as outlined in Standard Operating Procedures
  • Team participation with planning and design a secure server infrastructure
  • Ensure systems comply with Sarbanes-Oxley, security and HIPAA regulations and policies
  • Monitor, administer and support all server and storage platforms across the Hanger Enterprise - 1000+ servers
  • Provide support for any problems associated with the platform infrastructure
  • Assist in developing and architecting technology solutions as directed by management
  • Properly document and maintain an inventory of all server systems
  • Install, configure, and maintain server software and hardware
  • Replace failed hardware and address server systems problems
  • Troubleshoot reported incidents and problems


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university is desired; 2 years of experience can be substituted for one year of formal education
  • 2+ years' experience supporting a Windows server and Linux environments
  • Must have basic knowledge of programming or scripting skills in any language
  • Understanding of I.S. policies, procedures and management documentation
  • Experience with Active Directory, VMWare, cloud based solutions, mail and messaging systems.


Additional Success Factors

  • MCSE/MCITP, VCP, Azure or Citrix certifications are a plus
  • Solid understanding of storage, virtualization and cloud offerings
  • Familiarity with Citrix, Ivanti, MS System Center, VMWare vRealize
  • Healthcare and/or financial application experience desired
  • Self-motivated to be a team player, with self-initiative to develop and understand technologies and solutions.
