Our company is one of the most significant publicly traded water, wastewater service and natural gas providers in the U.S. JOB SUMMARY Supervise and direct the Company's Commercial Metering operations to ensure the safe, accurate, reliable, and compliant measurement of natural gas. Provide leadership for Commercial Metering while overseeing commercial and industrial meter installations, maintenance, inspections, testing, calibration, electronic volume correctors, and communication devices. LOCATION: Flexible Responsible for ensuring measurement accuracy, regulatory compliance, revenue protection, billing support, employee development, and continuous improvement of commercial metering operations. Collaborate closely with Billing, Engineering, Gas Operations, Customer Service, and other internal departments to support accurate customer billing, improve operational efficiency, and deliver exceptional customer service. Lead the continued development and implementation of the Company's Commercial Metering Program through process improvement, technical expertise, performance management, and industry best practices. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Lead, supervise, coach, and develop Commercial Metering Technicians.
- Plan, prioritize, schedule, assign, and monitor commercial metering activities to ensure safe, timely, and efficient completion of work.
- Oversee the installation, inspection, maintenance, repair, replacement, testing, and troubleshooting of commercial and industrial meters, electronic volume correctors, telemetry, and associated measurement equipment.
- Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of commercial measurement systems and supporting data.
- Coordinate meter investigations involving high bill complaints, billing discrepancies, measurement concerns, and customer inquiries.
- Work closely with the Billing Department to ensure accurate meter data, timely resolution of billing issues, and proper configuration of commercial accounts.
- Support revenue assurance initiatives through accurate measurement, meter investigations, item file verification, and identification of potential revenue loss.
- Ensure compliance with Company policies, SOPs, PHMSA, DOT, PUC, and other applicable federal and state regulations governing gas measurement and commercial metering operations.
- Maintain required testing, calibration, inspection, and maintenance programs for commercial metering equipment.
- Review work quality through field inspections, audits, and performance observations while promoting a strong safety culture.
- Serve as the technical resource for commercial gas measurement, electronic volume correction, and meter performance.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Construction, GM&R, O&M, Customer Service, and other departments regarding commercial metering activities and customer projects.
- Develop and maintain department procedures, work practices, and standardized processes supporting commercial metering operations.
- Monitor department performance through key performance indicators (KPIs), quality metrics, productivity, and customer service measurements.
- Assist in evaluating and implementing new metering technologies, software applications, and process improvements that improve operational efficiency and billing accuracy.
- Participate in internal and external audits, regulatory inspections, and compliance reviews involving commercial metering.
- * Monitor departmental budgets, control expenditures, and manage overtime within approved guidelines.
- Provide technical training, mentoring, and professional development opportunities for employees while fostering continuous improvement.
- Respond to emergency situations and provide technical support involving commercial measurement equipment when necessary.
- Participate in Gas Operations Supervisor on-call schedule.

- Thorough knowledge of commercial and industrial natural gas measurement systems.
- Working knowledge of diaphragm, rotary, turbine, ultrasonic, and other commercial metering technologies.
- Knowledge of electronic volume correctors, communication devices, pressure and temperature compensation, telemetry, and meter programming.
- Knowledge of AGA measurement standards and accepted industry best practices.
- Strong understanding of natural gas measurement principles, billing impacts, and revenue protection practices.
- Knowledge of applicable PHMSA, DOT, PUC, OSHA, and Company regulations.
- Knowledge of SAP, GIS, Microsoft Office, and applicable metering software systems.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent planning, organizational, project management, and prioritization abilities.
- Ability to lead technical employees while promoting accountability and continuous improvement.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build productive working relationships across departments.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze operational data and identify process improvements.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in gas operations or other related industry experience.
- Minimum of 1 year leadership experience or advancing leadership duties.
- Understanding of PUC, CFR and/or DOT regulations.
- Demonstrated success in leadership role.
- Demonstrated success in systems and project management.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Management or similar required.
- Demonstrated related experience may be substituted for preferred education.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Daily travel to work sites of PNG, external customers and travel beyond Pittsburgh representing PNG
- Perform Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally.
- Office and Field environment
- May be subject to extreme temperatures, noise, wet and/or humid conditions; mechanical, electrical, gas exposure hazards; fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases and/or poor ventilation atmospheric conditions.
