MRR Facility Operations Job Description
The University of Missouri and MURR are seeking a skilled Reactor Machinist to join the Machine Shop team. This role designs, fabricates, maintains, and repairs high-precision equipment and instrumentation that support reactor maintenance, research, and production. The machinist also assists in developing new components, performs technical investigations, and provides hands-on support to Reactor Operations, engineers, and scientists. This position is part of the Machine Shop's Career Progression plan. Key Duties Performed by This Position Will Include * Receives work requests from faculty and staff. Successful candidates will be persuasive communicators with exceptional organizational and time management skills. Monday - Friday 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. after hours and overtime may be required to complete projects and repairs as needed. Required to be part of the rotating on-call holiday schedule. Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary. Preferred Qualifications
MIG and TIG weld steel, aluminum and stainless steel components based on the specifications of the blueprints and/or drawings. Knowledge of set-up, manufacturing, and troubleshooting procedures for CNC Milling and Turning Machines Anticipated Hiring Range
