Job Overview The HR Business Analyst, Special Projects is responsible for supporting and leading strategic HR initiatives, projects, and process improvements that enhance organizational effectiveness and operational efficiency. This role partners with HR leaders, Centers of Excellence, and business stakeholders to identify opportunities, develop solutions, manage projects, and deliver meaningful business outcomes. Working across a variety of HR disciplines, the incumbent will support initiatives related to talent, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, compliance, employee experience, process optimization, system implementations, change management, and other strategic priorities. The role requires strong project management, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, along with the ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support HR projects and special initiatives from planning through implementation.
- Partner with stakeholders to understand business needs, gather requirements, and develop practical solutions.
- Manage project plans, timelines, deliverables, risks, dependencies, and status reporting.
- Coordinate activities across HR, business functions, vendors, and other key stakeholders.
- Analyze data and trends to support decision-making and develop recommendations.
- Create reports, dashboards, presentations, business cases, and project updates for leadership.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, streamline operations, and enhance employee and manager experiences.
- Support change management activities, including communications, training, and adoption planning.
- Document processes, procedures, governance, and project outcomes.
- Assist with HR programs and initiatives related to talent, organizational changes, compliance, workforce planning, employee engagement, mergers and acquisitions, and operational excellence.
- Support vendor relationships, implementation activities, and ongoing program effectiveness.
- Participate in enterprise-wide initiatives and other special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Project Management, Organizational Development, or a related field OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Minimum Experience
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in project management, business operations, analytics, consulting, human resources, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience within an HR discipline, such as HR Operations, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, HR Business Partnering, Total Rewards, Learning, or Organizational Development.
- Experience managing projects and initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience developing presentations, reports, and recommendations for business leaders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting HR transformation, process improvement, or organizational change initiatives.
- Project management certification or formal project management training.
- Experience working in a global or complex organizational environment.
- Familiarity with HR systems, workforce data, reporting, and analytics.
- Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, organizational design, or large-scale business initiatives.
Pay Range: $75,000-$90,000 (The range does not include benefits, and if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity) Benefits: All job offers will be based on a candidate's skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data. Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment. This role requires candidates to reside within a commutable distance of our Durham, NC headquarters and to be able to visit the location on an asneeded basis.
Physical Requirements:
Frequently stationary for 6-8 hours per day. Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf. Light to moderate lifting and carrying, or moving of objects, including luggage and laptop computer with a maximum lift of 15-20 lbs.
