Under the leadership of the Assistant Vice President, Regional Campuses with a dotted line matrix responsibility to primary supervisors in each area, the incumbent provides leadership, direction, and coordination for multiple enrollment and retention functions at the campus. In addition, oversees the day-to-day operations of the assigned regional campus and serves as the campus point of contact for all internal and external stakeholders. Ensures compliance with all policies, procedures, federal and state regulations within the admissions, testing, and registration areas. Maintains consistency, accuracy and student-centered customer service by ensuring internal processes are efficient and effective generating continuous service improvement. Communication is continuous between the Executive Director, division, industry partners, specialized agencies, and governmental regulatory bodies.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

  • Campus Decision Making: Manages department and campus resources and delivers timely and effective services. Oversees the day-to-day work of assigned staff at the campus and collaborates with horizontal formal matrix supervisor for the following: academic support, accommodations, admissions center, career hub, cashier, financial aid, library, the resource center (LPC's), registration, student life, testing.
  • Fiscal Administration: In partnership with the Assistant Vice President, Regional Campuses prepares and implements budgets to meet departmental, divisional and institutional objectives; monitors budget activity.
  • Data Analysis and Evaluation: Directs the collection and processing of data; analyzes results and prepares reports. Conducts routine audits for data accuracy and quality assurance. Runs and provides standard reports when data is requested
  • Training and Development: Assists and collaborates in supervising, training, and evaluating staff. Works closely with each horizontal matrix leader to hire, train, lead, mentor and motivate campus-based staff; encourages professional development and engagement. Responsible for daily operations of the general student services offices at the assigned regional campus; serves as the functional supervisor under the direction of the Assistant Vice President, Regional Campuses.
  • Community Leadership & External Relations: Under the direction of the AVP, actively participates in community and civic organizations, including service clubs, chambers of commerce, industry associations, and local events.
  • Cross Functional Relationships and Collaborative Teamwork: Establishes, maintains, and enhances positive work relationships with staff, faculty, and administrators. This may include joining cross-department committees (Ex: Student Accounts Appeal Committee).
  • Leadership and Supervision: Develops and manages a high performing team of highly skilled and motivated staff focused on the delivery of quality and value-added services, and allocates cross-functional responsibilities and work processes. Responsibilities include hiring, coaching/mentoring, performance management, and progressive discipline as needed.
  • Continuous Learning & Professional Development: Maintains current knowledge of best practices and standards in higher education with an emphasis on community Colleges. Actively organizes and/or participates in applicable workgroups, trainings, workshops, seminars, committees and professional associations or conferences to promote continuous learning.
  • Other duties: Perform other related duties within the scope of the position as required for the efficient operation of the division and to support institutional objectives.

Compliance with all state, federal, and accreditation standards/requirements, as well as all MATC policies and procedures.

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of progressively responsible work experience in higher education, including three (3) years of staff supervision or 2 years with completion of Emerging Leaders.

Preferred Education & Experience:

Master's degree and five (5) years of progressively responsible work experience in higher education, including staff supervision.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to communicate effectively through both oral and written means across all levels of employees and management including public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of budget planning and resource oversight.
  • Ability to build teams, provide guidance and provide project coordination across employees. As well as knowledge and experience in processes related to effective supervision in a diverse organization
  • Ability to organize, analyze and interpret statistical and management data. Demonstrated ability to gather information, identify patterns or connections between situations.

Supplemental Information

Start Date: This position supports the (name of pathway/department) and is available to start on (ideal start date or immediately).

Hours: This position is a full-time position working 40 hours per week with occasional evenings as necessary. This position works 100% on-site.

Compensation: Salary pay rates are listed up to the midpoint of the range and placement is determined based on years of experience, internal salary equity, and a review of the applicant's employment and educational background as listed on the job application.
