What to Expect
NPIEngineeringTechnicianposition isrequiredto support the NPI engineering trialsat the KatoBattery CellDevelopment Site. This role requires supporting trials, builds, &DOE'son high volume and pilot/lab scale manufacturing lines, and working cross-functionally with TPM's,NPI, Integration, Process/ManufacturingEngineers, Operations, Quality, Production Control, & Production teams.The trials span across battery manufacturing processes (Electrode, Tabless, Assembly, Formation, CT, Post-Formation sorting/shipping), andrequiresa breadth of knowledge incellproduct and manufacturing processes toautonomously lead execution efforts. The NPI Technician team isleanand requires cross-functional coordination with other teams, and their technical experience will aid them being a center point for trials & builds within the building.
What You'll Do
- Lead and support the NPI & Engineering team across all phases of product introduction - development, trials, launch, and sustaining
- Execute NPI trial plans on the cell manufacturing or pilot line, coordinating engineers, supervisors, and production associates as the responsible lead on the floor
- Record trial data, process parameters, and material IDs, escalating build issues through proper channels until resolution and communicating learnings afterward
- Use ION/MFS to track trial progress and materials, and JIRA tickets plus PCA notes to request test resources and update all NPI activities
- Support post-formation activities - CT prep/coordination, sorting, packing, andlogistics- and coordinate with Production Control on materials between Kato and the warehouse and safe shipping of cells/materials
- Coach and lead production teams through trials, cutovers, and launches while managing multiple projects and teams simultaneously to solve priority tasks
- Take initiative on standard and non-standard tasks, working directly with NPI TPMs and Program EPMs to chart solutions, document them as new standards, and follow all safety and material-handling procedures
What You'll Bring
- Degree or higher in Science or Engineering or equivalent experience
- Able to work from complex manufacturing documentation, drawings, verbal and written instructions, and specialized fixtures/test equipment
- Work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating fluidly with team members to achieve strong results
- Excellent verbal and written communication with clear,appropriate messagingacross the team, cross-functional teams, and customers
- Strong data entry skills (Jira, Excel,etc.)
- Proven record of working within a team with a team-oriented attitude
- Able to work safely with live battery cells, followingappropriate trainingsand guidelines, and prioritize assignments to complete work on time

Expected Compensation
$28.80 - $56.40/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
