The EPFM Program is a community-based training program whose mission is to train well-rounded, compassionate, resilient physicians who advocate for wellness in their communities. EPFM is in Puyallup, WA, part of the beautiful Pacific Northwest, minutes from Commencement Bay on Puget Sound, only an hour's drive from the Cascade Mountains and two hours from the Olympic Rainforest and ocean beaches. MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital (MGSH) has constructed a state-of-the-art patient care tower that opened in the spring of 2011; located 1 block from the residency clinic, MGSH houses all hospital-based rotations, including OB. EPFM has osteopathic recognition and an addiction medicine fellowship that trains 2 fellows per year.

EPFM is part of the University of Washington Family Practice Network, comprising some of the finest Family Medicine training programs in the country. EPFM faculty teach 3rd and 4th year medical students from University of Washington, Washington State University, and Pacific Northwest University - College of Osteopathic Medicine. The EPFM faculty has variety of areas of expertise including FP with obstetrical privileges, hospital medicine, palliative medicine, addiction medicine (including prenatal substance use), and school-based health care. In addition, MGSH is affiliated with Pacific Northwest University College of Osteopathic Medicine (PNWU-COM) and trains 20 3rd and 4th year PWNU-COM medical students within the community. The EPFM Faculty member will have the opportunity to participate in a high quality, full spectrum family medicine education program which will be community based, comprehensive and supportive in resident education.

Requirements:

Physician - board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine or American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians

Licensed in the state of WA by the time of employment

Demonstrate interest in teaching and patient care including obstetrics

Hospital and obstetrical call required

DEA, NPI & prescriptive authority

Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association

Position Summary

The Physician Preceptor - MedAc provides direct and indirect supervision of residents, fellows, and/or medical students in an outpatient teaching environment. The Physician Preceptor - MedAc will teach within the clinic environment, seeing patients with the learner(s) when appropriate. The Physician Preceptor - MedAc may be board certified in any of several specialties. When they are teaching and seeing patients, they will do so within their particular area(s) of clinical expertise.Responsibilities
*Supervision of care provided by residents, fellows, and/or medical students in an ambulatory environment
*Provide direct supervision for procedures performed by learners within preceptor's area(s) of clinical expertise
*Complete all chart documentation for teaching/supervisory activities within expected timeframe, as determined by the Program Director
*Provide subject matter expertise and consultation to learners within area(s) of the preceptor's clinical expertise
*At the discretion of the Program Director, may contribute to development of educational modules and curricular tools within their area(s) of clinical expertise
Requirements
*Board certified in primary specialty, which may be FM, IM, EM, Gen Surg, Ortho, Med/Peds, OBGYN or any specialty approved by the ABMS and acceptable to the Program Director
*Unrestricted WA state medical license by time of employment
*At least 2 years of relevant clinical experience preferred
*Certification/Experience in primary specialty which is acceptable to the Program Director
*Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $130.00 - $130.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
