Join UCSF Medical Center's dynamic Urology Faculty Practice as a Hospital Assistant III, where you will support outstanding patient care in a highly collaborative and innovative environment. Under the supervision of the Administrative Director and Nurse Manager, you will assist in delivering specialty care, including performing personal care, nursing procedures, and facilitating clinical processes.

This position requires adaptability to UCSF's multi-site environment and involves assisting with procedures, patient care, and clinical tasks while adhering to UCSF's service excellence standards and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Support

  • Perform and document routine patient care, including vital signs, height, weight, and pain screenings.
  • Assist nurses, providers, and patients in preparing for exams or procedures.
  • Successfully complete training to assist with urology-specific procedures.
  • Obtain specimens, conduct point-of-care testing, and manage lab-related tasks.

Administrative Functions

  • Use UCSF's Electronic Health Record (APeX) to document and manage patient information.
  • Schedule procedures, coordinate services, and manage medication authorizations.
  • Ensure clean, well-stocked exam rooms and maintain equipment according to infection control protocols.

Patient Interaction

  • Communicate with patients and families courteously, ensuring a positive experience aligned with UCSF's Living PRIDE standards.
  • Address patient delays and issues, serving as an advocate to enhance their clinic experience.

  • Current American Heart Association CPR Certification.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
