POSITION SUMMARY:

The Site Finance Team Leader/Controller will be responsible for the overall leadership of the finance team supporting the Hauppauge Business Unit (BU). This position serves as the primary advisor to the FSD Hauppauge staff, providing strategic financial leadership, operational business partnership, financial reporting, cost accounting oversight, compliance, risk management, and talent development. As a key member of the site leadership team, this role influences business strategy, supports operational decision-making, impacts profitability and drives initiatives that improve financial performance and organizational effectiveness.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Leadership and Strategy: Serve as the trusted right hand to the BU Manager. As the second-in-command on financial and business matters, this position acts as a strategic partner in shaping direction, driving execution, and ensuring strong financial and operational performance. The role combines financial stewardship, business insight, and leadership to support sound decision-making, accountability, and achievement of business goals.
  • Team Management & Development: Lead and manage the Hauppauge finance team, build, mentor, and develop high-performing accounting team through coaching, succession planning, performance management, and career development. The finance leader will foster a collaborative and accountable team culture focused on continuous learning and strong operational partnership.
  • Financial Oversight: Oversee division administrative programs and systems, including general ledger, financial planning and analysis, annual budgeting, operations and engineering business partnering, fixed assets, financial reporting, performance measurements, accounts payable, accounts receivable.
  • Process Improvement: Develop innovative approaches to resolve administrative systems problems, implementing new processes and efficiency improvements while creating guidelines and policies for division use.
  • Cost Accounting & Operational Finance: Provide leadership and oversight for manufacturing accounting, inventory management, average actual costing, variance analysis, labor efficiency, and overhead absorption methodologies.
  • Internal controls, Compliance, & Risk Management: Lead site compliance efforts related to internal controls, SOX requirements, corporate compliance initiatives, and financial risk mitigation. This role will assess and strengthen financial and operational controls to improve transaction accuracy. Champion a culture of accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Represent FSD to government agencies and customer audiences, maintaining relationships with key decision-makers to support financial initiatives.
  • Resource Allocation: Deploy resources effectively, assisting other team leaders in the appropriate allocation of personnel and capital to optimize division performance.
  • Performance Evaluation: Develop measures to evaluate the results and success of financial programs, incorporating both objective and subjective assessments to inform decision-making.



JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of the relevant business function that would typically be obtained through a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or similar discipline, and eight or more years of progressive experience within the administrative specialty.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the described role and responsibilities and achieve the desired results. An M.B.A. CPA or CMA certification and demonstrated expertise in manufacturing finance, cost accounting and operational finance is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and team building skills in producing results and meeting organizational objectives. Capable of assessing and developing individual and team skills and capabilities. Able to create and maintain enthusiasm for new and challenging goals. Serves as a role model by promoting new ideas and positive change.
  • Thorough understanding of business and financial systems and controls, contractual terms, and regulatory requirements. Ability to control costs and effectively implement programs with impact to division-wide efforts. Highly effective and persuasive in developing and maintaining customer/internal client relationships
  • Effective at building customer partnerships and focusing team accountability for and commitment to customer satisfaction.

  • Pay Range: $120500 to $210950 annually
  • Participation in Annual Incentive Program
