Electrical Engineering Manager (Power Systems & Utilities)

Location: Dallas, TX

Compensation: $155,000-$160,000 + 10% annual bonus

We are hiring a direct hire Electrical Engineering Manager to lead the design and delivery of power distribution, substation, and control system projects. This leadership role is ideal for a seasoned engineer with expertise in medium and low voltage systems, protection & control, and power systems analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of electrical engineers and test technicians
• Oversee design, development, testing, and validation of electrical systems (substations, switchgear, transformers, relays)
• Drive engineering strategy, innovation, and process improvements
• Collaborate with manufacturing, project management, and mechanical teams to ensure design for manufacturability
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and resource planning
• Ensure compliance with ANSI, IEEE, NEC, and industry standards
• Support customer engagements, technical presentations, and long-term partnerships

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
• 8+ years of electrical engineering experience, including 2+ years in leadership
• Strong background in power systems, protection & control, and switchgear design
• Experience managing complex engineering projects and teams
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and electrical design tools
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills

Preferred

• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Experience in utility, substation, or industrial power environments
