Job Description

Location: Remote - candidate will have the flexibility to work from their home office but must reside in the U.S.

Schedule: Full-time, Non-exempt

Travel: This is a true road-warrior role. Expect to travel extensively, coast to coast, to support project needs.

What You'll Do



  • Conduct real estate title searches using online databases and in-person visits to county courthouses across the country
  • Retrieve and review deeds, mortgages, contracts, easements, tax cards, and plats
  • Compile accurate, complete findings into client Title Reports you can stand behind
  • Verify and document all instruments required for thorough, compliant title searches
  • Carry assignments independently from start to finish, raising issues early when something genuinely needs a second set of eyes


Who You Are

You're an experienced title professional who can hit the ground running with minimal hand-holding. Specifically, you:



  • Work titles independently and know how to resolve a tricky one without waiting on someone else to solve it for you
  • Use sound judgment and critical thinking to work through ambiguity and keep the work moving
  • Set your own pace and manage competing priorities to hit deadlines across multiple assignments
  • Are precise, organized, and detail-driven - accuracy is the job
  • Communicate clearly, in writing and on the phone
  • Are comfortable in a digital, remote environment and pick up new systems quickly
  • Are ready and able to travel extensively, coast to coast


Minimum Requirements



  • Minimum five (5) years' experience pulling title and title history
  • Demonstrated experience:

    • Analyzing titles and title reports
    • Verifying property ownership, mortgages, liens, and judgments
    • Determining whether restrictions such as delinquent taxes affect title and limit property use
    • Identifying key parcel information and communicating it clearly to property owners


  • Proficient reading deeds, legal descriptions, plats, and easements; searching parcel data; and producing a chain of title
  • Strong command of real estate terminology
  • Ability to determine the types of title evidence required to obtain property descriptions and names involved
  • Strong, day-one proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Microsoft Teams, and with a document/file-sharing system such as Dropbox
  • iOS or Android smartphone to access ORC's systems
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to travel extensively throughout the U.S.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. Compensation for this position is dependent upon many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for benefits and employee travel reimbursements.

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to clearly communicate and exchange information in person, via phone and email. Substantial repetitive movements of the wrists, hands and/or fingers due to high amounts of computer usage and typing. Expected to spend long spans of time in front of a computer screen. Able to read, understand and interpret department related documents and data. This is a largely sedentary role; however, the employee is occasionally required to move about inside the office to access files, office equipment and to interact with other members of the staff. This employee is required to occasionally travel to government buildings which involves time driving; sometimes for long durations.
