The acquisition brings a truckload brokerage and expanded transportation management solutions to Roadtex's customers while providing Echo with our national warehouse footprint and advanced temperature-controlled transportation solutions.

Position Summary

The Inventory Manager is responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and control of all inventory operations within the assigned facility. This role leads inventory control processes, cycle count programs, inventory reconciliation, and warehouse management system (WMS) accuracy to support operational performance and customer requirements.

The Inventory Manager partners cross-functionally with Operations, Customer Service, Receiving, and Shipping teams to ensure inventory accuracy standards are achieved, discrepancies are resolved, and inventory processes are consistently executed. This position also provides leadership and development for inventory personnel while driving process discipline and continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities

Inventory Control & Accuracy

  • Lead and manage all inventory control activities for the facility.
  • Oversee cycle count programs and ensure inventory locations are counted according to established schedules.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy metrics and investigate discrepancies to identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Ensure proper inventory rotation, lot control, expiration management, and customer-specific inventory requirements are maintained.
  • Oversee inventory adjustments and ensure all transactions are properly documented and approved.

System & Process Management

  • Maintain inventory integrity within the warehouse management system (WMS).
  • Advance and sustain drone inventory platforms.
  • Oversee item master setup and maintenance, including units of measure, dimensions, lot attributes, and storage requirements.
  • Audit inventory processes to ensure compliance with company procedures and operational standards.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop inventory team members, including supervisors, clerks, and auditors.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and accountability standards.
  • Support staffing, scheduling, training, and employee development activities.
  • Foster a culture focused on safety, accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Operational & Customer Support

  • Serve as the primary escalation point for inventory-related operational issues.
  • Coordinate customer-requested counts, investigations, and audit activities.
  • Partner with operational leadership to resolve inventory discrepancies and improve process execution.
  • Support internal and external inventory audits as required.

Reporting & Performance Management

  • Develop and maintain inventory performance reporting and key operational metrics.
  • Analyze inventory trends and communicate performance results to site leadership.
  • Drive action plans to improve inventory accuracy and operational consistency.

Qualifications

Required

  • Five or more years of inventory control experience in a warehouse, distribution, or 3PL environment.
  • Two or more years of leadership experience.
  • Working knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory reporting tools.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent operational experience.
  • Experience in temperature-controlled or multi-client warehouse environments.
  • Experience supporting customer audits and physical inventories.
  • Continuous improvement or Lean experience.
