Role: Sr. Network Engineer - This is a remote opportunity

Senior Cisco network engineering, network security architecture, Zero Trust implementation, segmentation, 802.1X/NAC, perimeter security, enterprise monitoring/logging, vulnerability remediation, technical leadership, and Government-facing documentation. Must be able to lead design decisions, advise CBO stakeholders, guide the Network Engineer, coordinate with cybersecurity/cloud/Microsoft teams, and produce implementation plans, validation criteria, rollback steps, architecture diagrams, SOPs, RCA reports, and audit-ready evidence.


NOTE: The resume should include examples of network architecture design, Cisco enterprise network modernization, segmentation or micro-segmentation, 802.1X/NAC implementation, firewall and perimeter rule optimization, VPN/remote access security, least-privilege administrative access, secure management plane design, centralized logging, SIEM or NDR integration, vulnerability remediation, patch/firmware lifecycle planning, network device baseline development, audit support, network incident RCA, and senior advisory work with business or Government stakeholders. The resume should demonstrate that the candidate can write technical recommendations, implementation plans, change records, security impact analysis, validation results, rollback procedures, network diagrams, SOPs, and evidence packages.

Minimum Experience:
  • Senior network engineer/network architect with 10+ years of enterprise network engineering experience, including at least 5 years supporting Cisco-based environments at senior engineer, lead engineer, or architecture level.
  • Must have network design, network modernization, segmentation, perimeter security, firewall rule review/optimization, 802.1X or NAC deployment, SIEM/NDR integration, vulnerability remediation planning, device lifecycle management, network monitoring, and incident response support.
  • Federal, legislative branch, defense, financial, healthcare, or other highly regulated experience is necessary for federal cybersecurity standards, audit readiness, confidentiality, and formal change management.
  • Design, implement, operate, and optimize Cisco-based core, distribution, access, and edge environments for availability, scalability, performance, and resilience.
  • Network security architecture aligned to NIST SP 800-53 and NIST SP 800-207, 802.1X, role-based and identity-aware access, perimeter and public-facing security, SIEM/NDR integration, vulnerability remediation, device lifecycle management, audits, assessments, compliance reviews, RCA, automated patch management, network diagrams, and continuous real-time monitoring.
Certifications: CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Security, CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure, CCIE Security, or equivalent senior Cisco credentials. For a strong senior candidate, CCNP plus extensive experience in architecture and security implementation is acceptable. Also additive: CISSP, CISM, Security+, Cisco CyberOps, Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto PCNSE, Juniper professional certifications, AWS/Azure networking or security certifications, ITIL, and NIST/RMF-related experience.
