Job Profile Summary

This role focuses on preventing workplace accidents and promotes health and safety awareness and education to individuals within the organization. In addition, this role focuses on performing the following Associate Safety related duties: Prevents workplace accidents and promotes health and safety awareness and education for employees. An organizational related support or service (administrative or clerical) role or a role that focuses on support of daily business activities (e.g., technical, clinical, non-clinical) operating in a "hands on" environment. The majority of time is spent in the delivery of support services or activities, typically under supervision. An entry level role that typically requires little to no prior knowledge or experience, work is routine or follows standard procedures, work is closely supervised, and communicates information that requires little explanation or interpretation.

Job Overview

Monitor, screen and welcome staff, patients, and visitors to ensure all who enter are authorized or have legitimate business on the property in accordance with current security levels. Provide a high level of customer service by interacting with staff, patients and visitors in a professional, cordial and helpful manner.

Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Prior security, customer service, or administrative experience.

Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature of work and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

1. Monitor and control access into Hospital facilities via the appropriate admittance process. Allow only authorized visitors entry into the facility. Screen staff, patients and visitors in an efficient manner in order to expedite their admittance to the facility.

2. Provide a high level of customer service by interacting with staff, patients and visitors in a professional manner that is proactive and anticipates the needs of others by referring individuals to the proper department or resource.

3. Answer and directs incoming phone calls in a courteous manner.

4. Identify problems requiring resolution and attempt to resolve basic security and customer service issues in a courteous, impartial manner. Enlist the assistance of a supervisor or other staff when warranted.

5. Assist individuals with disabilities and mobility issues by securing appropriate transportation or services.

6. Communicate in a manner that is professional, cordial, and responsive. Provide appropriate directions or information regarding the facility and surrounding area as requested by visitors.

7. Maintain a security presence by always remaining vigilant and observant.

8. Report any suspicious individuals or activity, violations of rules or regulations as required.

9. Assist with special events/projects or responses to emergency codes as directed.

10. Collaborate with Public Safety Officers as required or directed.

Physical Requirements:

1. May be exposed to stressful situations, such as challenging individuals who are in or approaching an unauthorized area.

2. Keyboarding, basic computer usage and operating controls.

3. Able to see and read computers displays, read fine print, and/or normal type size print and distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.

4. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

5. Seeing, hearing, speaking, and writing clearly in order to communicate with employees and visitors, observe and report incidents, and direct others.

6. Frequent contact with patients, visitors, employees, and the general public.

1. Ability to multi-task and meet established deadlines.

2. Ability to assess potentially dangerous situations quickly and make sound decisions based on the information present and takes appropriate action.

3. Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances.

4. Courteous telephone manner skills.

5. Ability to adapt to changes in the external environment and organization.

6. Ability to write routine correspondence, including email, logs, and reports.

7. Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at various social levels and across diverse cultures.

8. Ability to read and write at a proficient level.

9. Basic computer skills.
