SUE Field Technician | Dallas, TX

IMEG is hiring a SUE Field Technician in Dallas, TX, to support daily Subsurface Utility Engineering crew operations and field utility location work. In this role, you will help operate field subsurface utility equipment, perform geophysical prospecting for underground utilities, and provide SUE support under the leadership of a Crew Chief or Office Coordinator.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Perform field work for SUE location scopes using appropriate geophysical prospecting equipment to accurately designate underground utility layouts
  • Complete routine computations for a variety of project types
  • Operate and assist with operation of SUE equipment, data collection tools, and other location equipment
  • Transfer files between data collection systems and internal company project folders
  • Conduct quality checks and process field data
  • Download, maintain, and verify the accuracy of project data, reports, and database records
  • Maintain professional and productive working relationships with clients and coworkers
  • Operate a company vehicle
  • Observe safety and security procedures

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Associates degree, or certificate, in Building Information Modeling (BIM), or Engineering preferred
  • 1 years of experience minimum required, 2 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry preferred
  • Basic knowledge of typical SUE marking techniques including sweep, direct connects, indirect connects and induction methods.
  • Knowledge of modern SUE equipment, devices, and methods
  • Problem solving techniques
  • Basic knowledge of jurisdictional and industry requirements
  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment
  • Possesses basic oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to professionally represent IMEG
  • Valid driver's license with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier; must consent to a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background check
  • Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel with occasional overnight stays
