The DAS Braille QA Analyst is responsible for reviewing and verifying the accuracy of braille materials to ensure they meet industry standards and are accessible to users. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a thorough understanding of braille transcription, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, error-free documents. This position reports to the DAS QA Manager.

Key Responsibilities



  • Examine braille documents for accuracy, consistency, and completeness.

  • Identify and correct errors in formatting, spelling, punctuation, and braille code usage.

  • Collaborate with braille transcribers, application developers and production staff to resolve discrepancies.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of braille standards and best practices.

  • Prepare reports and feedback on proofing outcomes as needed.



Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

EXPERIENCE


  • Proficiency in braille reading and writing; certification in braille transcription preferred.

  • If not currently braille-certified, willingness to work toward obtaining braille transcription certification.

  • Experience with assistive technology (e.g., screen readers, refreshable braille displays, and accessibility tools).

SKILLS


  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Familiarity with relevant braille software and proofreading tools.

  • Excellent communication skills.

EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma
