Overview

The Transitions Human Resources Manager supports the successful onboarding and integration of newly acquired or transitioned hotels into the portfolio. This role is responsible for coordinating and executing critical Human Resources administrative, recruiting, onboarding, and systems-related activities throughout the transition lifecycle. The position partners closely with corporate HR teams, hotel leadership, and outgoing management companies to ensure a seamless associate experience and operational continuity during hotel transitions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the internal Human Resources liaison between corporate HR stakeholders, hotel leadership teams, and outgoing management companies to ensure effective communication on all HR related matters.
  • Collect, organize, and monitor follow-up on Human Resources due diligence documentation and requirements.
  • Coordinate and validate job mapping of census data prior loading any information into Workday.
  • Complete Workday transition imports for hourly associates and management offer letters to ensure accurate associate onboarding and system setup.
  • Prepare, extend, and track management offer letters throughout the transition process.
  • Organize onboarding sessions for new associates and facilitate the onboarding sessions in partnership with the Transitions Director of HR.
  • Conduct regular audits of census data to ensure completion of all tasks and accuracy of associate information prior to and following each transition.
  • Recruit for all non-executive committee positions at transition hotels and support hiring efforts to ensure timely staffing.
  • Validate tax tasks are completed on all associates prior to the first payroll.
  • Assist the property entering all secondary job codes/rates.
  • Assist adding associate punches during the first payroll process.
  • Support on-property transition activities and assist with onboarding and training efforts for newly hired Human Resources leaders.
  • Conduct regular follow-up calls with Human Resources teams at transition properties, including weekly touchpoints during the first 30 days and additional follow-ups at 60 and 90 days.
  • Assist with Workday system cleanup and data validation before, during, and after hotel transitions.
  • Partner with the Benefits team to ensure accurate associate data entry and timely completion of benefit enrollments.
  • Provide support and guidance to hotel leadership teams regarding Human Resources processes, onboarding procedures, and transition-related activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies throughout the transition process.
  • Support additional Human Resources projects and initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of Human Resources experience in a hotel environment required.
  • Experience with Workday required.
  • Previous experience supporting hotel openings, acquisitions or multi-property operations strongly preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple transitions and competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with associates and leaders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large volumes of associate data with accuracy.
  • Knowledge of Human Resources practices, onboarding processes, recruiting procedures, and employment compliance requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and implement timely solutions.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive associate information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Human Resources systems.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc.

Working conditions

Frequent travel is required, estimated 60-70% travel.

Compensation

Salary Range: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 Annually Tipped/Service Charge Eligible? No Discretionary Performance Bonus Eligible? Yes
