Job Summary
The client is seeking a senior Business Analyst to support an Enterprise Information Management (EIM) initiative within a Performance Management and Analytics environment. This role serves as a Metadata Ingestion Analyst and strategic liaison between technical IT teams and business program stakeholders, focusing on metadata acquisition, data lineage, business glossary development, analytics enablement, data governance, and AI-assisted metadata management.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in business analysis, metadata management, SQL, data governance, and stakeholder engagement. The role requires translating complex technical concepts into business-friendly language while promoting data literacy, supporting reporting initiatives, and leveraging AI technologies for metadata discovery and enrichment.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary liaison between business users, program teams, technical teams, project sponsors, and subject matter experts.
• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to metadata acquisition, data cataloging, data lineage, and glossary development.
• Connect enterprise metadata cataloging and lineage systems with source applications, databases, and operational systems.
• Automate metadata collection, ingestion, and update processes for high-value enterprise data assets.
• Translate technical findings, metadata concepts, and data limitations into clear and understandable business language.
• Extract, integrate, analyze, and enrich metadata from multiple complex internal and external data sources.
• Collaborate with business users, analysts, and IT leadership to create reporting solutions, dashboards, and visualizations.
• Support metadata enrichment, glossary validation, and business data lineage analysis initiatives.
• Validate AI-generated outputs and identify potential inaccuracies, inconsistencies, and hallucinations.
• Ensure compliance with data governance standards, reporting requirements, and regulatory policies.
• Promote data literacy across the organization through training sessions, workshops, and user education.
• Develop documentation, tutorials, standards, and best practices for metadata management and glossary usage.
• Partner with data engineering, analytics, governance, and program teams to resolve metadata-related issues and improve data quality.
• Provide guidance on interpreting metadata trends and answering complex business and technical data questions.
• Research emerging AI, metadata management, and data governance technologies and best practices.
• Develop standardized AI prompts, templates, and query strategies for metadata retrieval, reporting, and analytics use cases.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience gathering business requirements and translating complex metadata acquisition and operational requirements into actionable business solutions.
• 8+ years of experience explaining technical findings, metadata concepts, and data limitations to non-technical users and leadership.
• 8+ years of experience working in complex data analysis, senior business analyst, systems analyst, or data liaison roles.
• 8+ years of strong SQL experience including data extraction, manipulation, analysis, and enrichment.
• 8+ years of experience collaborating with business users, analysts, and IT teams to develop data glossaries and perform business data lineage analysis.
• 8+ years of experience with stakeholder communication, presentations, facilitation, and relationship management.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and business process analysis skills.
• Experience working within Agile development environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse environments.
• 5+ years of experience serving as the primary point of contact for metadata and glossary-related analytics initiatives.
• 5+ years of experience working within Health and Human Services, healthcare, government, or other regulated environments.
• 5+ years of experience with data governance, metadata management, and data quality principles.
• Experience with metadata governance platforms such as Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC) and Informatica Axon Data Governance.
• Experience promoting organizational data literacy initiatives.
• 2+ years of experience training, mentoring, and supporting users with varying levels of technical expertise.
• Experience developing AI prompts and leveraging AI tools for metadata discovery and knowledge management.
