Occupational Summary

The Communications Project Coordinator provides essential support in planning, scheduling, and executing marketing and communications projects across the MarComms team. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this role helps manage project workflows, documentation, and internal communications to ensure projects are completed efficiently and effectively.

This position plays a key role in coordinating day-to-day project activities, supporting team collaboration, and enhancing internal communications, events, and stakeholder engagement initiatives.


Work Performed

  • Coordinate and support marketing and communications projects from planning through execution
  • Maintain project schedules, track progress, and support project management tool implementation
  • Organize and manage project documentation, presentations, and internal newsletters
  • Support and manage the summer internship program, collaborating with campus partners
  • Serve as a key resource for team members by providing processes, protocols, and documentation
  • Assist the Director of Operations in coordinating team initiatives and fostering collaboration
  • Support vendor relationships and ensure stakeholder communication and deliverables are met
  • Contribute to internal communications and stakeholder engagement efforts
  • Provide operational and administrative support, including training on tools and systems
  • Maintain organized records and documentation for team projects and initiatives


Minimum Qualifications

Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field


Experience:



  • 2-3 years of project coordination experience, preferably in a marketing or communications environment


Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience preparing presentations and managing documentation
  • Familiarity with project management tools and software
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple priorities

Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $44,766.00 to USD $71,706.00. Duke University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position; candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills; internal peer equity; as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
