Job Summary Licensed by the South Dakota State Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners, the Respiratory Care Practitioner/Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) principal duties are primarily in an home medical equipment (HME) environment. The RRT will assess, treat, and care for patients with acute or chronic cardiopulmonary disorders and associated aspects of other systems. The RRT assumes primary responsibility for ordered respiratory care modalities by initiating and conducting therapeutic and diagnostic procedures within their scope of practice and the assigned department's scope of service. Respiratory care includes observing, assessing, and monitoring signs, symptoms, reactions, general behavior, and general physical response of individuals to respiratory care.Monument Health offers competitive wages and benefits on qualifying positions. Additional Requirements Required Education - Associates in Health Sciences Certification - Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) - South Dakota Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners, Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer. Regarding BLS certification: The department you are applying to may require BLS certification sooner than 60 days post transfer/hire. The hiring manager will discuss this with you if it is applicable. Preferred Education - Bachelors in Health Sciences Certification - Within 90 days of hire Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) - Wyoming Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners Scheduling Requirements: Requires the ability to work assigned schedules and hours as determined by the department.Physical Requirements: Very Heavy work - exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occassionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects.
