Overview

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Accounting Manager with a property tax focus to lead real and personal property tax compliance and accounting across a large, multi-state portfolio. This role is responsible for overseeing filings, payments, assessments, audits, accruals, and related reporting, while partnering closely with Accounting, Real Estate, Construction, and Operations. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting and property tax expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced, multi-location environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who is motivated to strengthen processes, reduce risk, and drive continuous improvement across a critical tax function.

Salary range: $78k-$103k based on experience



Responsibilities

    Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, real estate, or a related field preferred
  • 6+ years of progressive experience in accounting, including 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role and 2+ years working with property tax
  • Strong knowledge of real and personal property tax regulations, assessment processes, and valuation methodologies across multiple jurisdictions
  • Experience managing property tax compliance, assessments, audits, notices, and appeals in a multi-state environment
  • Experience in retail, convenience store, fuel, real estate, or other multi-location environments preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills such as VLOOKUPs and pivot tables
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong time management and project management capabilities
