Job Description

Position Summary:

The Shipping / Receiving Clerk completes shipping and receiving tasks such as loading and unloading trucks, verifying packaging slips and order contents, performing visual inspection, as well as packaging product for either outside processing or finished goods, and will make deliveries in the company vehicle. Shipping clerks will demonstrate basic packaging skills such as part protection, verify packaging information, boxing, taping, wrapping, stenciling, banding, weighing, etc. All shipping and receiving clerks will be forklift certified and will demonstrate an ability to aid in developing new packaging processes and procedures and determine work priority based on the shipping schedule to prepare loads for pickup. The person in this role will demonstrate solid computer and keyboarding skills and attention to detail to ensure efficient and accurate entry of information into the company ERP system. Must be a U.S. Person and be able to provide appropriate documentation. This is a first shift position.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Receive in new inventory and properly enter into ERP system
  • Responsible for placing materials received into their proper assigned locations. Materials not having a location assigned will be put into a location ensuring this location is entered into the company inventory computer system.
  • Responsible for ensuring materials are properly located and are afforded the appropriate protection to prevent damage from material handling equipment, personnel, or climatic conditions.
  • Maximize space utilization in warehouse and shipping
  • Pull necessary material for the manufacture of aerospace parts for mechanics
  • Load and unload deliveries
  • Maintaining detailed records of all incoming and outgoing parts
  • Build boxes for shipping
  • Deliver and pickup parts and other materials in company vehicle
  • Ensure required documentation is completed including ERP system
  • Complete weekly 6S efforts to sustain continuous improvement
  • Actively support and participate in continuous improvement
  • Maintain all safety requirements are followed when performing these operations.
  • Additional duties as required

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Communication, verbal and written (English)
  • Basic hand and power tools
  • Responsible for ensuring materials are properly located and are afforded the appropriate protection to prevent damage from material handling equipment, personnel, or climatic conditions
  • Actively support and participate in continuous improvement
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills
  • Basic Math Skills
  • Good driving skills and good driving record
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds and spend considerable time on feet

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Forklift operation
  • Warehouse / Shipping / Receiving experience
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills
  • Manufacturing & Aerospace experience preferred
