| Job Summary |
The Basak Lab at the University of Texas at Dallas is seeking a Research Assistant I to lead various research activities in Dr. Chandramallika Basak's Lifespan Cognition and Neuroscience (LiNC) Lab located at UT Dallas Center for Vital Longevity.
Ability to maintain high degrees of confidentiality, basic computer skills, organization of records and attention to detail is a must. Knowledge of statistics and background in human subject research would be a plus. |
| Minimum Education and Experience |
Bachelor's degree in one of the basic sciences or an equivalent combination of education and experience in customer service or in daily interactions in a public services environment. |
| Preferred Education and Experience |
Bachelor's degree in psychology, neuroscience, or a cognate subject. |
| Other Qualifications |
To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position. |
| Essential Duties and Responsibilities |
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) coordinating research staff and lab activities (participant recruitment and screening, data collection, data entry on databases, updating records and notebooks, and data analysis), assistance with
IRB protocols, literature search, evaluate and interpret research data for data presentation to principal investigator and other researchers.
Other responsibilities include maintaining clean laboratory and/or work area to ensure safe and efficient work environment, ordering laboratory and other supplies as directed by senior research staff, and staying abreast of
IRB and other regulatory requirements.
Interviewing research study participants, administer computer and written standardized psychological testing materials, assess subjects ability to participate, data collection, data entry, oversee student data collection,
MRI/fNIRS data collection. |
