Temple University's Kornberg School of Dentistry is searching for a part-time Dental Lab Technician!

SALARY RANGE: $19.00 to 20.00 per hour

Position Summary:
The Digital Dental Laboratory Technician for the Kornberg School of Dentistry will be responsible for working with Dental Faculty, residents, and students in creating various customized digital milled prostheses based on the individual patient. Primary responsibilities will include CAD/CAM design and scanning, preparation of casts, checking digital impressions, advising faculty, designing crowns and other prostheses, nesting, milling, staining and glazing, and finishing. In addition, the Dental Laboratory Technician will also be responsible for working with dental students within advanced restorative courses to give demonstrations on CAD/CAM techniques, supervising faculty and students with clinical data collection used in scanning, and coordination of all lab processing of digital prostheses, and will provide administrative support for the current lab operating at the dental school. Other responsibilities will include ordering and maintain inventory of CAD/CAM materials and working with the department Chair to identify new and more efficient materials to be used, designing and 3D printing of surgical guides. Maintaining (set up, cleaning, basic repairs) of lab equipment as well as allocating the digital scanners to users. Entering and verifying work orders and digital scans being sent to an outside laboratory into Axium. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in a field with heavy CAD/CAM applications and at least 6 months of directly related (CAD/CAM) experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred Education and Experience:
Candidates with dental knowledge will be preferred.

Essential duties:
*Working with dental faculty to review and check digital impressions, design, mill, stain and glaze prostheses.
*Keeping faculty up to date with realistic timeframes on completion of products, any delays that arise along with potential solutions.
*Designing CAD/CAM crowns, bridges, and other prostheses.
*Pouring models as necessary.
*Nesting, milling, finishing, staining, and glazing of crown.
*Management of flow of operations and administration support for lab services. Oversee the assigning of digital equipment to students.
*Assist faculty in the pre-clinical digital curriculum.
*Milling in house and finishing of single crowns and bridges.
*Maintenance of milling unit and equipment.
*Working alongside faculty, lectures/demonstrates to students CAD/CAM techniques in advanced restorative courses.
*Supervising faculty and students with clinical data collection used in the scanning.
*Continue to keep up to date with new techniques in the field and provide input to faculty and administration on new technology, equipment or processes that may be helpful to the Dental School as well as improvements that can be made to current facilities, equipment, and procedures.
