Aircraft Technology, Inc., (ATI), a subsidiary of HEICO Corporation, is an FAA/EASA Part 145 Repair Station. ATI supports a wide range of rotary and fixed wing components found on both commercial and military platforms around the world.

The CNC Programmer/Machinist provides essential support to the Engineering Department through CNC and CMM programming, manufacturing process development, tooling design, and CNC operation for production support. This position is responsible for developing and operating CNC machining programs, CMM inspection programs, manufacturing fixtures, and engineering documentation to support aerospace component repair and manufacturing operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Develops repair processes and operates CNC in accordance with the manufacturer's maintenance manual, customer requirements, or drawings.
  • Must know how to design a fixture applicable to the repair process using 3D modeling.
  • Participates in establishing and modifying repair methods and processes by recommending changes in materials, equipment, and procedures.
  • Develops and maintains a variety of reports, records, and repair documentation to reflect methods and other manufacturing aspects.
  • Provides tasks related to the First Article Inspection Part.
  • Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's guidelines, procedures, and policies, plus applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include training associates and resolving technical problems.
  • Develops, validates, and operates CMM inspection programs for aerospace components and tooling.
  • Creates and optimizes CNC machining programs and operates using CAD/CAM software for repair and manufacturing applications.
  • Supports First Article Inspection (FAI), dimensional investigations, and root cause analysis activities.
  • Works closely with Quality and Production Departments to resolve machining and inspection-related issues.
  • Manufactures tooling for New Product Development projects
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

EDUCATION:



  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent from an accredited school.
  • Basic education on drafting 3D modeling, Solid Works, or AutoCAD preferred.
  • Training in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Gibbs CAM, PC-DMIS, or equivalent CAD/CAM and CMM programming software preferred.



EXPERIENCE:



  • At least 3 years of experience in CNC programming or CMM programming, manufacturing engineering, tooling design, or aerospace component repair and manufacturing.
  • At least 3 years of MRO repair station experience.



SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE OR ABILITIES:

Language/Communication Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as emails, reports, and correspondence. Excellent ability to communicate both orally and in writing.

Computer Skills: Possess a general understanding in the areas of application programming and database and system design, including Outlook, MS Office, Excel, and PowerPoint, 3D modeling, and programming CNC machines.

Other Skills: Ability to use basic mathematics, possess a basic understanding of the areas of machining, welding, and inspection.

Reasoning Abilities: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills, strict attention to detail, and ability to multitask and prioritize as necessary, with minimal supervisory direction.

Interpersonal Skills: Must work well with and communicate effectively with others. Must be flexible in handling multiple tasks

Technical Skills: Proficient in CNC programming and setup. Experience with CMM programming and dimensional inspection techniques preferred. Knowledge of GD&T, blueprint interpretation, tooling design, aerospace manufacturing processes, and CAD/CAM software are desirable.

The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is typically performed in a shop or engineering environment. Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and risk of electrical shock. Noise level is generally low to moderate.
