Overview
SCCI is seeking a System Administrator to join our team! In this position you will participate in the planning, monitoring, testing, maintaining, and operating of multiple operating system environments while supporting a high-performing DoD acquisition program. This position is located in Dahlgren, VA.

- Participate in planning, monitoring, testing, maintaining, and operating multiple operating system environments
- Recommend improvements to the Development and Test Environment
- Ensure the rigorous application of cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of systems
- Support and interact with the cybersecurity system engineers, system administrators, system engineers, and system developers
- Perform security assessments using DoD provided tools; reporting results to the cybersecurity system engineer; and developing strategies to mitigate discrepancies
- Assist in the day to day management and maintenance of network infrastructure including log and system monitoring, end user issue resolution, backup verification, Internet and LAN connectivity issues, access control management, email connectivity issues, virus and malware mitigation, etc.
- Provide Linux and Windows system administration services to support government systems
- Provide system administration support and administer, configure, and troubleshoot RedHat Linux servers and workstations and Windows workstations
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and have an Active Secret Security Clearance
- A Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific or technical discipline
General Experience:
- Four (4) years of hands-on technical experience supporting LANs, WANs, network segments, and internet and intranet systems. Experience should include the following:
- System backup and recovery
- Basic software management
- Security management
- Library management
- Installation and configuration of hardware
- Operating systems and COTS software
- Operating computer systems in different operating environments, sizing, performance tuning
- Hardware/software/network troubleshooting and resource allocation
Specialized Experience:
- Position requires IAT Level II or higher. This position is designated as IT-1 (i.e., possesses Security+ CE, CCNA Security, or GSEC Certification)
- Basic to advanced Red Hat Linux and Solaris
- Basic to advanced scripting experience (e.g., bash, python, ansible, powershell, etc)
- Network Protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, and ICMP
- Major network security tools such as firewalls, knowledge of computing and networking vulnerabilities, attack methods and latest detection methods
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
