Who we are looking for:

The Staff Accountant supports the day-to-day operations of the accounting department. This role will relieve the CFO and Controller of selected responsibilities that will allow them to spend a greater portion of their time on Financial Statement preparation and analysis, Budget and Variance issues, and Forecasting. Will balance daily accounts and assist in preparation of checks, entries and records pertaining to the financial affairs of the bank in a timely manner.

What you'll do:




  • Process invoices
  • Process prepaid and accruals
  • Balance General Ledger Accounts
  • Balance Internal Checking Accounts
  • Generate System Reports for Monthly Board Packet
  • Investment & CDs Postings
  • Help Close month-end financials
  • Input General Ledger ticket descriptions to core system
  • Assist with Call Report data/report compilation
  • Update rate information
  • Backup for Bookkeeping duties when necessary
  • Various other duties, including but not limited to:
  • Input data to Intra-branch Accounting spreadsheet
  • Post month-end branch allocation entries
  • Assist with exam and audit package assemblage
  • Will follow established processes and guidelines in daily activities and adhere to all applicable laws and regulations.

Success in this job relies on your time management skills, organization, and positive attitude. In addition, you'll need the following qualifications:



  • Highly reliable with the ability to maintain regular attendance and punctuality
  • Good interpersonal communication, organizational, and computer skills
  • Must be a perfectionist by nature, with very little tolerance for financial sloppiness.
  • Must be highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data.
  • Must be highly skilled in use of Excel Spreadsheets and MS Word.
  • Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures
  • Must be approachable and present a positive attitude
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work independently possessing good effective time management skills and ability to organize and prioritize.
  • Sensitivity to confidential information is required
  • A Bachelors degree in accounting/finance preferred
  • Relevant experience in banking or financial services a plus
