We are seeking an Analyst Estimator to work on-site at our Kingsford, MI location.
The Analyst Estimator will be responsible for estimating/proposal development and analysis, supporting cost reduction initiatives, and delivering government and or defense type estimates/proposals. You will work closely with engineering, program, finance, sales, purchasing, corporate leadership, and customers to drive business growth and secure the future of the program.
MAJOR DUTIES:
- Prepare and present cost estimates in support of customer's request for quotes and bid proposals.
- Initiate meetings with Sr. Estimators, Program Managers, Sales, Purchasing, and Engineering as required to determine the scope of work including labor and material needed in support of an estimate.
- Participate in Bid/No Bid decisions after reviewing bid requests to determine whether job is suitable for current capabilities.
- Research potential sources of supplies. Track, file and organizer Requests for Quotes to obtain material and component pricing.
- Consult with Engineering and Manufacturing to determine process capability, manufacturing methods, and make vs. buy decisions.
- Consult with accounting department to assure that current/correct labor and overhead rates are used.
- Analyze historical data to validate pricing accuracy and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Interface with manufacturing personnel to develop detailed cost estimates including direct labor, quantify estimated material(s), equipment usage, subcontractor costs, overhead, and application of indirect rates to formulate an overall estimated cost.
- Prepare formal quotations and proposals for customers within required timelines.
- Maintain our estimating file system for all documents.
- Initiate, attend and participate in cost and price reviews and present cost estimates and risk assessment to management team for utilization in the development of pricing strategies.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate's degree in related field, Bachelor's Degree Preferred
- 2+ years of experience in Manufacturing, Cost Estimating, Purchasing or related field
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple quotes and meet tight deadlines
- Proficiency with MS Teams, Excell, Power Point and Word
- Adapt to change and digital platforms
