Responsibilities
Hospital sitters are essential functions of the patient care team, providing continuous supervision, basic care and emotional support. Often rotating through out the different units, the sitter is responsible for observation of the patients who have been assessed to potentially cause harm to themselves, fall risk. Escort to them via transports to outside hospital facility. The sitter functions under the direct supervision of the nurse responsible for the care of the patient. Accompany patients via transport to hospital. Monitor the patient at all times to prevent falls, self-injury or harm to others. Detect change in condition/patient behavior and promptly report to nurses or health professionals. Maintain accurate records of patient care and observation
Qualifications High school diploma 1 to 3 years of experience in healthcare Strong communication, observation and interpersonal skills, empathy, patience and attentiono to detail, ability to remain alert for extended period of time Must have valid driver license | ||
