What You Will Learn:

L'Oreal is looking for innovative, curious, and ambitious individual to join us as Director, Commerce Strategy. This position is based in our New York, NY headquarters. You will understand the intricacies of the Division portfolio, channels of distribution, competitive landscape, Go-To-Market ecosystem, business models, etc. In this unique role, your work will be broad, ranging from analysis across channels and brands, developing strategic business recommendations, to working collaboratively on cross-functional projects with partners at all levels of the organizations, to project management and presentation creating for leadership business reviews.

What We Are Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of related experience in commercial strategy, sales planning, business analytics, consulting
  • Strong strategic and analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize complex business data across multiple channels and brands into clear insights and recommendations
  • Strong business acumen with understanding of retail, consumer, category and market trends
  • Effective and impactful communicator including strong storytelling and presentation skills, including experience developing executive-level materials
  • Strong collaborator with proven ability to manage multiple priorities and projects, and influence cross-functional stakeholders in a fast paced environment
  • Experience building scalable tools, templates or reporting frameworks that improve visibility and business decision-making
  • Proficiency in analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI), data visualization platforms, and performance reporting systems.
  • Highly organized, proactive and solutions-oriented with strong judgement, curiosity and learning agility
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage complex, ambiguous situations
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent and ongoing basis without requiring sponsorship.

Responsibilities:

  1. Act as a strategic support partner to the SVP Head of Commerce across all channels, developing commercial strategies, synthesizing business insights, and identifying distribution opportunities to gain market share.
  2. Formulate recommendations on performance and long-term business planning to guide Head of Commerce and Account Leads on prioritization decisions and support proposals for leadership meetings and reviews.
  3. Prepare strategic performance presentations and reports for senior leadership, providing the necessary intelligence to support strategic decision-making across channels and brands.
  4. Identify and support execution on multi-channel and multi-branded initiatives; serve as a key liaison across commercial teams to drive execution.
  5. Develop and maintain cross-channel reporting tools to deliver visibility into key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying opportunities, risks, and areas for improvement across all key accounts and channels.
  6. Partner closely with Commerce leadership to identify performance gaps, share data-driven recommendations, and help optimize sales strategies in alignment with commercial goals.
  7. Monitor activation plans and KPIs, ensuring seamless tracking of results, and share insights to enable continuous optimization of channel strategies.
  8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., eCommerce, RGM, Business Planning, Brands, etc.) to integrate insights and across channels.
