Hourly Pay Range:

$41.64 - $64.54 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Job Summary:

The Systems Engineer II's role is to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house information systems that support core organizational functions. This is achieved through researching, designing, building, configuring, testing, deploying, analyzing, administering, and maintaining/supporting environments and hardware, infrastructure and software platforms, and software technology components to meet current and future business needs for their specific technology portfolio. The Systems Engineer II will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.

The Systems Engineer II leads aspects of the implementation and design of hardware and software platforms and solutions, developing designs to address business requirements, ensuring system scalability, security, performance and reliability. The Systems Engineer II typically works on more complex and larger impact projects and is expected to design highly optimal systems and processes as a result of broader and deeper experience. The Systems Engineer II possesses the ability to analyze and troubleshoot issues independently as well as coach other team members. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

The Enterprise File Transfer & Infrastructure Integration Engineer is responsible for supporting large-scale hospital integration initiatives across multiple entities and external partners. This role manages secure enterprise file transfers, workstation policy implementations, and PKI certificate administration to ensure secure, reliable, and compliant data exchange across the organization.

The position supports numerous simultaneous initiatives and requires strong coordination, technical, operational, and troubleshooting skills within a complex healthcare enterprise environment.

What you will do:

Enterprise File Transfer & Integration Management
  • Configure, manage, and support secure file transfers using the enterprise SFTP/Managed File Transfer (MFT) platform.
  • Coordinate onboarding and setup of file transfers across hospitals, business units, vendors, and external entities.
  • Manage and maintain hundreds of inbound and outbound file transfer configurations.
  • Support file transfers originating from multiple source locations including on-premises systems, cloud environments, enterprise applications, and vendor-hosted platforms.
  • Monitor daily file transfer operations to ensure successful, timely, and secure data delivery.
  • Troubleshoot file transfer failures, connectivity issues, authentication problems, and transmission delays.
  • Maintain documentation for file transfer workflows, dependencies, operational support procedures, and configurations.
Workstation Group Policy (GPO) Administration
  • Support implementation and management of workstation Group Policies (GPOs) across enterprise environments.
  • Coordinate GPO deployments related to security, configuration standards, system hardening, and compliance requirements.
  • Work with infrastructure, desktop engineering, and cybersecurity teams to validate policy implementation and troubleshoot related issues.
  • Assist with workstation policy standardization efforts during hospital integration and migration activities.
PKI & Certificate Management
  • Support enterprise PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) and certificate lifecycle management activities.
  • Coordinate issuance, renewal, replacement, and revocation of certificates across enterprise systems and applications.
  • Monitor certificate expiration timelines and ensure timely renewals to prevent service disruptions.
  • Support secure communication and encryption requirements for applications, file transfers, servers, and endpoints.
  • Work with infrastructure, security, and application teams to troubleshoot certificate-related issues and maintain compliance with security standards.
Collaboration & Operational Support
  • Partner with cybersecurity, infrastructure, networking, server, application, and vendor teams to support secure integration initiatives.
  • Participate in multiple concurrent projects while managing competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Assist with operational process improvements, automation opportunities, and standardization initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational security standards, healthcare regulations, and enterprise operational procedures.
  • A team player who works well with the team from the get-go.

What you will need:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree (technology, computer science, information systems, engineering) OR equivalent work experience and applicable to the role.
  • Experience: Five (5) or more years of experience of related experience in IT Systems, Platform Engineering or Technical Engineering related to the role's specific technology portfolio.
  • Experience supporting enterprise SFTP or Managed File Transfer (MFT) platforms.
  • Experience with workstation Group Policy (GPO) administration and implementation.
  • Experience with PKI and certificate lifecycle management.
  • Knowledge of secure file transfer protocols including SFTP, FTPS, SCP, HTTPS, and SSH.
  • Understanding of Active Directory, workstation management, and enterprise infrastructure environments.
  • Unique or Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous initiatives in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Healthcare industry experience preferred.
  • GlobalScape EFT or similar MFT platforms.
  • Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy Management.
  • PKI platforms certificate management solutions.
  • Windows and Linux server administration.
  • Networking fundamentals including DNS, firewalls, ports, and connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Scripting and automation experience preferred.
  • Ability to operate effectively within a highly complex, multi-entity healthcare integration environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and operational ownership.
  • Ability to coordinate across technical, operational, and business teams while maintaining security, reliability, and service continuity.
