POSITION SUMMARY Oversee all aspects of the volleyball program within the guidelines set forth by Loras College, The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin and the National Collegiate Athletic Association--Division III intercollegiate volleyball program. Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Given that the College is a diocesan Catholic college, will carry out your functions of your position in support of the College's Catholic Identity, mission and in support of Church teachings.
- Oversee the identification, evaluation, and recruitment of potential football student-athletes.
- Monitors the academic progress of each football student-athlete in the program.
- Coordinates the physical development of each student-athlete through appropriate condition, strength, and practice sessions.
- Recruits, hires and evaluates all assistant football coaches.
- Directs and monitors the duties of the program's assistant coaches.
- It is accessible to the media, alumni, boosters, and public to publicize and promote the program, in coordination with the Director of Athletic Communication.
- Advises and counsels student-athletes academically, athletically, and socially.
- Fiscally responsible for all areas of the football budget and football recruiting, including budget proposal, accounting, and expenditure.
- Recommends and oversee the purchase of new football equipment, supplies, and uniforms.
- Represents the College at American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) meetings.
- Assists in the coordination of travel arrangements for road trips.
- Oversee the development of the game schedule with the Director of Athletics.
- Serves as director of football operations.
- Supports the mission and vision of the College and respects the College's Catholic tradition.
- Performs related duties as assigned.

Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in any field. Master's Degree preferred. Experience: Five years of collegiate coaching experience. Computer Skills: Skilled in the use of a personal computer and Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of computer and Internet applications to recruiting systems and data management. Other Requirements: Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of collegiate volleyball. Knowledge of the rules and regulations of the National Collegiate Athletic Association--Division III and the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin as they pertain to collegiate volleyball. Demonstrated success in coaching volleyball and recruiting quality student-athletes. Also, must be able to demonstrate knowledge of the techniques, fundamentals and drills associated with volleyball. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, colleagues, student-athletes, and subordinates. Ability to analyze strengths and weaknesses of the volleyball program and develop problem-solving solutions. Possess high energy level, strong work ethic, and a positive attitude. Good organizational and communication skills. Ability to represent the philosophy of Loras College to alumni, members of the Loras community, the media, and prospective students.
