GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: To lead the planning and execution of the work efforts for assigned departments to maintain the quality and intergrity of products at the lowest possible cost. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Directs assigned departments efforts, including staff supervision and associated personnel actions.
- Provides direction to designated work teams with responsibility for maintaining productions schedules, quality of work, and planning and assigning duties.
- Build upon processes established by engineering; leads process improvement efforts by establishing performance measures and goals, monitoring trends, and initiating problem-solving and corrective action.
- Ensure department work areas are safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant through training, implementation of EHS policies, and continuous improvement.
- Creates and maintains training matrices of personnel and associated documentation.
- Interfaces with supporting departments such as Engineering and Quality Assurance.
- Ensure adequate resources are in place for employees to perform daily operations, including materials, tools, and training.
- Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position has supervisory responsibilities.

Required Experience:

- Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Four-year college/university degree (technical field preferred) or equivalent experience.
- Three years of related experience in manufacturing, including supervision.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Shopfloor environment/shared workbench or workstation.
- Ability to perform repetitive motion (rotating wrists, keyboarding, using small/large tools).
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to tolerate constant noise (machine motors, large fans).
- Ability to work safely in the presence of hazardous chemicals and hazardous conditions.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand or sit for long periods of time.
- The employee frequently is required to handle or feel objects, tools or controls and climb or balance.
