Facilities Mechanical Engineer

Provide mechanical engineering solutions for projects and problem resolution or enhancements for all mechanical building systems at the Chrysler Technology Center.

The Facilities Mechanical Engineer is responsible for:



  • Assessing maintenance records and the mechanical condition of various mechanical/utility systems and equipment.
  • Design and installation of mechanical systems including schematic design.
  • Assist the consulting engineers in the creation of construction documents.
  • Create long term capital improvement plans based on assessment results and develop work packages for building mechanical/utility systems.
  • Provide technical direction for building mechanical/utility systems and provide studies and analysis for mechanical/utility building systems.
  • Provide technical guidance to manufacturing facilities for energy efficiency, conservation, and optimization.
  • Develop schedules and manage workloads for new programs requiring mechanical/utility building modifications.
  • Improve building trade work force efficiency, cost effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.
  • Review and enhance preventive maintenance procedures on mechanical system assets.


Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with preventive and proactive maintenance concepts.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Stellantis Industrial Systems (SIS) experience is a plus.
  • 5 years of experience in facilities management or Mechanical system design and/or maintenance.
  • Prior skilled trade supervisory experience.
