POSITION SPECIFICS

The Eberly College of Scienceat The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for an experiencedData Analyst (Intermediate Professional).In this position, the successful candidate will beresponsible for retrieving and analyzing data from a variety of data sources in order to provide information and analyses in the form of reports to college leadership for planning, assessment, and performance improvements.This position willproactively support the college administration, along with the academic departments and units of the college.

Responsibilities of the data analyst include:

  • Retrieving and analyzingdatafrom a variety of institutional datasources to providereports and information to college leadership for planning, assessment, and performance improvements across the college
  • Collaborate with college personnel to support strategic planning efforts, including the development of key performance indicators and the establishment of qualitative and quantitative metrics informed by available data and institutional knowledge
  • Design, write, and analyzesurveydata
  • Serve as a consultant to college units by providing facilitation and training in data gathering, interpretation, and utilization
  • Provide consultation to college offices on assessment initiatives, assisting stakeholders in understanding and utilizing results, and enhancing the assessment of learning outcomes associated with co-curricular programs and services
  • Partner with the college IT team to develop and maintain a secure data repository to support analysis for college stakeholders
  • Contribute to a range of projects and ad hoc analyses, maintaining responsiveness and adaptability in data extraction and in determining the appropriate scope of data required
  • Serveon college or university committees to support college initiatives

The successful candidates will have the following:

  • Strong time and project management skills
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment
  • Strongdatapresentation skills and excellent communication skills
  • Fluent in the information systems that house student data (LionPath, Canvas, Starfish, etc.) as well as having a working knowledge of educational structures (campuses, colleges, programs, entrance to major processes, university policies and procedures, etc.) preferred
  • Knowledge of iTwo, eSTeward, LionSpace (FIS), SIMBA and Microsoft Power BI and other Office software is desired: Skill with Qualtrics is preferred
  • Knowledge of legacy Penn State data systems (like Data Warehouse) can be helpful
  • A working knowledge of contemporary challenges in higher education and STEM disciplines is desired to include a high level of fluency in the issues for students in science and higher education

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree 1+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $56,200.00 - $81,500.00.
