About the Job

The Registered Dental Hygienist is responsible for providing clinical oral hygiene care, educating patients on preventative health, and assisting dental providers in diagnosing dental conditions. This position has the primary responsibility of assisting dentists in all phases of patient care.

Healthcare position. Bargaining unit consideration begins on May 19, 2026 and ends on May 25, 2026.

Number of Openings: 2

Hourly Rate of Pay: $40.11 to $52.91/hour

Required Qualifications: (must be documented on application materials)

  • Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program.
  • Current State of Minnesota Dental Hygiene License.
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • Must be able to multi-task and adapt to changing work environments and work responsibilities.
  • Successful experience providing dental care to a diverse patient base.
  • Please note that knowledge or experience in General Dentistry and knowledge of dental procedures is required. A possible phone/in person interview may be required to determine if an applicant has obtained the qualifications for the role.

Work Schedule: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. In-person.

Please note, this position is not eligible for H-1B or Green Card sponsorship. This position does not offer a STEM OPT training program.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Clinical Service Duties (95%):

  • Clinical Care: Perform professional dental cleanings, including scaling, root planing, and polishing.
  • Diagnostics: Take high-quality digital X-rays and intraoral photos; perform periodontal screenings and charting.
  • Prevention: Apply fluorides, sealants, and other cavity-preventing agents.
  • Patient Education: Instruct patients on proper oral hygiene techniques (brushing, flossing, nutrition) and explain the link between oral health and systemic diseases.
  • Medical History: Review and update patient medical histories, including medications and blood pressure screenings.
  • Sterilization: Maintain a sterile environment by disinfecting treatment rooms and sterilizing instruments according to OSHA and CDC guidelines.

Other duties as assigned (5%)

Qualifications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least one year experience as a Dental Hygienist working in a dental office or clinic.
  • Experience in an academic institution or in training or teaching others such as Dental Hygiene externs/interns, DDS, DH and DT students.
  • Experience in a busy Dental Clinic or practice atmosphere with multiple providers.
  • Ability to work with a diverse patient population, faculty, and staff, and ability to promote a respectful work place.
  • Broad experience with knowledge of procedures and in all areas of Dentistry.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work well in a team setting.
