Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Clerk to support our Birmingham, AL location. This role is ideal for a professional with strong administrative, human resources, payroll, and accounting skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring smooth office operations and supporting various business functions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Operate the in-ground scale and coordinate with drivers regarding weights and payments; maintain accurate records and ensure smooth flow of traffic
  • Perform receptionist duties including greeting visitors, answering phones, and managing general office communications
  • Handle payroll entry and verification, track vacation and attendance, and support onboarding of new employees
  • Purchase office supplies, issue purchase orders, and assist with maintenance-related tasks such as work orders and data entry
  • Prepare reports, assist with budget tracking, and apply ISO 9001 procedures where applicable

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in a fast-paced administrative or construction-type environment preferred
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
  • Experience in payroll entry and bookkeeping/accounting is highly desirable
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills
  • Ability to multitask, work independently, and quickly learn new software systems
  • Familiarity with safety standards and industrial regulations is a plus
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to process improvements
