Job Summary

The Safety Coordinator is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and supporting safety programs for large-scale commercial construction projects in the telecom and low voltage industry. This role conducts jobsite inspections, leads safety training, investigates incidents, documents safety findings, and works closely with project managers, field leaders, technicians, and client safety teams to promote a safe and compliant work environment.

Job Responsibilities




  • Conduct daily site safety walks, audits, and inspections across data center construction areas.



  • Identify hazardous conditions and recommend corrective actions to reduce risk and prevent incidents.



  • Ensure field technicians follow safety policies, PPE requirements, OSHA regulations, and client safety standards.



  • Lead or assist with toolbox talks, safety briefings, and site-specific safety training.



  • Investigate work-related incidents, injuries, near misses, and occupational safety concerns.



  • Document incidents, near misses, corrective actions, safety findings, reports, and compliance records.



  • Verify proper use of ladders, lifts, tools, equipment, and required PPE.



  • Review safety requirements, work plans, and site conditions to support compliance.



  • Coordinate with project managers, field leads, operations supervisors, and client safety teams.



  • Maintain and apply current knowledge of safety policies, OSHA regulations, and jobsite safety practices.



  • Support emergency response procedures, drills, and incident prevention efforts.



  • Promote a positive, proactive safety culture among all field staff.




Job Requirements




  • 3 to 5 years of experience in construction safety, preferably in low voltage, electrical, telecom, or data center environments.



  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, jobsite safety standards, hazard identification, PPE requirements, and risk mitigation practices.



  • Experience conducting safety audits, inspections, incident investigations, and corrective action follow-up.



  • Ability to lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training sessions.



  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work professionally with technicians, leads, project managers, and client safety teams.



  • Ability to enforce safety policies confidently and professionally.



  • Experience maintaining safety logs, reports, incident documentation, and compliance records.



  • OSHA 500 or OSHA 510 certification required.



  • STSC certification required at minimum; CHST certification preferred.



  • CSP, ASP, CHST, First Aid/CPR, or similar safety certifications preferred.



  • Experience using safety management software such as Procore Safety, iAuditor, SiteDocs, or similar platforms preferred.



  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word for reports and logs.



  • Experience with incident tracking systems, digital inspection tools, mobile audit applications, and learning management systems preferred.



  • Basic familiarity with Bluebeam or plan reading tools preferred.



  • Ability to stand and walk throughout the jobsite for the duration of the shift.



  • Must be able to wear required PPE, including composite toe boots.




Work Experience




  • Experience supporting safety compliance in large-scale commercial construction environments required.



  • Data center new construction experience preferred.

Additional Job Details (Commute, Attendance, etc.)




  • Work location: Fully onsite within a 30-mile radius of Fayetteville.



  • Schedule: Monday through Friday with a 6:00 a.m. or 7:00 a.m. start time.



  • Overtime may be required.



  • Project environment: Data center new construction.
