Job Summary

The International Shipping Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and executing domestic and international transportation activities to ensure timely, compliant, and cost-effective delivery of goods. This role oversees the full shipping documentation process, ensures adherence to U.S. and international trade regulations, and supports safe handling and packing of high-value equipment. The position requires strong expertise in global logistics, export-import compliance, and cross-functional coordination within a fast-paced industrial environment.

Job Responsibilities



  • Coordinate and execute domestic and international transportation of shipments
  • Ensure on-time delivery through effective carrier selection, scheduling, and shipment tracking
  • Maintain compliance with federal DOT regulations, international trade laws, and export control requirements
  • Prepare, review, and manage all shipping and export documentation, including invoices, NAFTA certificates, bills of lading, air waybills, packing slips, shipping instructions, hazardous materials documentation, and Shipper's Export Declarations
  • Oversee end-to-end shipment processing to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely execution
  • Provide guidance on packing requirements, loading procedures, and safe handling of high-value equipment
  • Coordinate with internal teams, carriers, and customs brokers to resolve shipping and customs issues
  • Support the packing and preparation of equipment using appropriate handling and protection methods
  • Operate forklift trucks and overhead cranes as needed to support shipping and logistics operations
  • Monitor and improve international shipping processes and documentation accuracy


Job Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 7-10 years of experience in import-export operations and customs processes required
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. import-export regulations, foreign customs requirements, letters of credit, trade finance programs, free trade agreements, and international logistics
  • Proven experience managing full-cycle international shipping and export-import compliance processes
  • Ability to interpret and manage complex regulatory and documentation requirements
  • Forklift and overhead crane operation capability required
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills across internal and external stakeholders
  • Must have valid U.S. work authorization


Work Experience



  • Extensive experience in international logistics, export-import coordination, customs compliance, or global supply chain operations required
  • Experience in electrification products or the electrical industry is a plus
  • Experience with SAP GTS or similar global trade management systems preferred
  • Professional customs certification or Licensed Customs Broker credential preferred
