Job Title: IT Sourcing / Procurement Consultant Location(s): Richmond, VA (Hybrid) Position Overview: A public-sector organization is seeking an experienced IT Sourcing / Procurement Consultant to support its Sourcing and Supplier Management team. This role is responsible for independently leading sourcing initiatives and managing the full procurement lifecycle for complex IT contracts. The consultant will partner with internal stakeholders to develop sourcing strategies, manage supplier negotiations, mitigate contractual risks, and ensure successful contract execution. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end sourcing and procurement activities for IT-related projects and contracts.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Create solicitation and procurement documentation.
- Manage proposal evaluations and supplier selection processes.
- Lead supplier negotiations and contract execution activities.
- Identify and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure contracts support long-term organizational and customer interests.
- Manage stakeholder expectations through timely communication and project coordination.
- Conduct post-project reviews and lessons-learned sessions to support continuous improvement and knowledge transfer.
- Handle multiple sourcing initiatives simultaneously while maintaining high service levels.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong experience managing IT sourcing and procurement projects.
- Experience with complex IT contract negotiations and supplier management.
- Ability to work independently and lead sourcing initiatives.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience drafting procurement and solicitation documentation.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred:
- Experience supporting public-sector or government procurement environments.
- Proximity to Richmond, VA for occasional onsite meetings.
