THE POSITION

Become a District Manager Secretary (Clerical Assistant 2) with the Liquor Control Board and support important activities that keep the District Office operating efficiently. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a fast pace and appreciates work that truly matters. You will help maintain smooth communication and ensure important tasks are completed on time. Your efforts will make a direct impact on employees and customers throughout the district.




DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position provides administrative and clerical support that keeps district and regional operations functioning well. The role focuses on completing important office tasks, assisting staff, and managing key information. Based on the location of the selected candidate, the worksite address may be either: 3018 Emrick Boulevard, Bethlehem, PA 18020 or 3300 Lehigh Street, Allentown, PA 18103. As a District Manager Secretary (Clerical Assistant 2), you will perform the following duties:

  • HR Processing: Handle employee actions, evaluations, disciplinary documents, and related HR forms with accuracy
  • Scheduling Support: Arrange interviews, maintain the District Manager calendar, update store schedules, and contact seasonal staff
  • Document Handling: Prepare memos, letters, reports, and hiring paperwork while keeping files and records organized
  • Communication Tasks: Respond to correspondence, answer phone calls, and assist staff with questions about procedures and resources
  • Operational Assistance: Enter receipts, manage supplies, track leave, open mail, review travel reports, and support store operations
  • Office Maintenance: Maintain office appearance, order needed items, and complete other required duties

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday thru Friday with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the hourly rate of $ 36,108 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:
  • You must pass a background investigation. An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB, per section 210(c) of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code. Other criminal convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
