The HSE Professional for Environmental Programs will support the HSE program, specific to Environmental and Sustainability initiatives. The role will be approximately 60% office, 40% field work on active and developing construction projects. This role will assist with developing and delivering educational materials related to environmental or sustainability aspects of Cianbro's work. This role will also be expected to present education materials to Cianbro Team Members as well as the general public and regulators. The role will work together with other HSE professionals in the company as well as engineers, project managers and operations support teams to maintain existing, and in some cases develop new, environmental and sustainability data systems, educational information, policies and procedures.

Additional responsibilities of this position could include compliance reporting, identifying internal performance trends, and providing insight and suggestions to positively impact our overall performance.

The HSE Professional for Environmental Programs must be creative and enjoy working as part of a team within a fast-paced environment and occasionally independently on projects, from conception to completion.

This position will be based out of Pittsfield, ME and reports to the Corporate Environmental and Sustainability Manager.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing new environmental and sustainability education materials.
  • Manage routine review of existing policies and procedures, educational materials for environmental and sustainability programs.
  • Provide routine analysis of our environmental data, providing trending, reporting, and statistical insight.
  • Completion of award submissions.
  • Support our estimating and proposal teams with necessary environmental and sustainability data for the bid and prequalification process.
  • Assist in the development of Environmental content for HSE Professional Development Programs.
  • Support the coordination and delivery of periodic environmental meetings related to projects, facilities and development efforts - including meetings with agencies and clients.
  • Support projects in implementation of the TCC Environmental Management System.
  • Support CDC project team as needed in the coordination of the environmental review and permitting process.

Qualifications/ Requirements
  • 1-5 years' experience working in environmental policy, science or engineering or equivalent education.
  • Proven work experience and aptitude to analyze data, identify gaps, propose additional data collection, and provide clear trends in an easily understood format.
  • Strong in data management and presentation.
  • General knowledge of environmental regulations and best management practices.
  • General knowledge of sustainable development practices and ability to gain skills for greenhouse gas reporting/carbon tracking protocols.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access).
  • Ability to evaluate programs/processes to streamline and gain efficiencies.
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of an organization.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, able to handle multiple competing priorities.
  • Customer service oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable delivering group presentations face to face and virtually.
  • Strong work ethic with a 'can do' attitude and the aptitude to learn and grow.
