Job Summary:
The Critical Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining the uptime, reliability, and safe operation of missioncritical facility systems that support uninterrupted service delivery. The role performs handson maintenance, configuration, and installation work across power, cooling, life safety, and monitoring systems while coordinating closely with engineering, operations, and construction partners.
Responsibilities:
* Maintain a primary focus on the uptime, reliability, and availability of all missioncritical facility systems, including electrical power, cooling, fire and life safety, grounding, and monitoring systems.
* Perform and support regional facility operations for critical environmental, electrical, and structural systems to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
* Execute scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance activities on critical infrastructure systems, including UPS systems, switchgear, generators, cooling systems (CRACs and chillers), and fire suppression systems, in accordance with established procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
* Coordinate and maintain accurate records related to the installation, removal, configuration, and capacity of equipment within technical facilities to ensure equipment requirements are met and building limitations are not exceeded.
* Program, configure, and network critical facilities devices to support monitoring, control, and operational visibility.
* Pack, ship, receive, stage, and coordinate the installation and removal of critical facilities equipment, ensuring proper documentation, labeling, and asset tracking.
* Coordinate efforts with thirdparty vendors and service providers to resolve maintenance, repair, and operational issues as they arise.
* Ensure all facilities and structures are physically sound, secure, properly lit, and capable of supporting installed electronic equipment in compliance with local, state, and federal building, electrical, and safety codes.
* Verify that appropriate electrical power is available for new and existing equipment installations, ensuring panels, circuits, outlets, and grounding systems are correctly installed, labeled, and compliant with applicable codes.
* Ensure facilities are equipped with functional and compliant fire detection and suppression systems and that systems are regularly inspected and maintained.
* Work closely with the Network Operations Center (NOC) to confirm critical facility parameters are properly monitored and that alerts or issues are addressed in a timely manner.
* Provide technical and operational support to Critical Facilities Engineers and Designers, assisting with installations, upgrades, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and facility improvement initiatives as needed.
* Develop, document, and improve procedures and best practices to align with industry standards and support safe, reliable facility operations.
* Identify risks to missioncritical systems and escalate issues appropriately to support proactive incident prevention and resolution.
* Be willing and able to travel in accordance with Midco's "Use of Vehicle for Company Business" policy.

* Ensure customer privacy by adhering to Midco's privacy guidelines while actively following Midco policies and procedures.
* Maintain reliable and predictable attendance as required by the position.

Required Qualifications:
* High school diploma / GED or equivalent experience.
* Minimum of two years' experience in technical facilities or commercial building construction field.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Associate's degree in engineering or similar field.
* Experience with mission-critical power and cooling systems in data center or industrial environments.
* Working knowledge of HVAC, UPS, and generators.
* Applicable knowledge of NEC, OSHA, NFPA and other safety codes.
* Professional certifications such as PE, CEM, or LEED.
Work Environment:
* The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
* Employees may be required to work in excess of 40 hours per week and other than normal business hours, such as holidays, evenings and weekends as business demands.
* Travel to different site location as necessary.
Physical Demands:
* May occasionally be required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
* May occasionally be required to lift and/or carry loads of up to 50 lbs.
Mental Demands:
* Attention to detail to ensure facilities remain code-compliant, secure, and properly maintained.
* Ability to prioritize and make sound decisions under pressure.
* Quick learner to adapt and apply evolving technical standards.
