Job Description

The Library Information Specialist position will perform the following circulation and access services duties:

  • Check materials in/out
  • Assist library patrons with inquiries or other needs that arise
  • Monitor and enforce library rules
  • Maintain a safe environment for patrons and library staff
  • Implement emergency procedures and protocols as needed in coordination with the library security officers and campus police
  • Manage stacks maintenance (re-shelving, shelf-reading, weeding, and assessing damaged materials), ensuring collection health, space for growth, and a user-friendly browsing experience
  • Responsible for general supervision of the library building during daytime hours, including opening the building Monday through Friday
  • Submit work orders to the Facilities Management Department for building maintenance repairs or other issues
  • Other duties as assigned

Shift

40 hours/week, Monday through Friday

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in libraries.
  • Experience supervising student workers.
Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $17.40-$23.85
Grade: GGS-007
