As the Team Lead, you will provide both technical and people leadership for a team of analysts responsible for supporting and enhancing Epic Professional Billing and Claims applications as well as peripheral systems related to the Community Affiliate business. This role blends hands-on application expertise with leadership responsibilities, ensuring high-quality delivery, team development, and cross-functional collaboration. The Team Lead will serve as the primary point of escalation for issues within the assigned applications, oversee enhancement reviews, assist with project scoping, and participate in Epic TS standing meetings. You will guide the team through the complexities of claims workflows, documentation needs, and industry standards, ensuring that software solutions are optimized to meet operational and regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the day-to-day activities of the Professional Billing/Claims Affiliate team, ensuring clear priorities, timely deliverables, and effective coordination across projects.
- Mentoring and developing analysts by sharing knowledge of workflows, processes, and best practices.
- Driving collaboration across teams, building consensus, and leading complex decision-making in alignment with organizational goals.
- Actively identifying risks and barriers, facilitating resolution of conflicts, and ensuring project objectives are met with quality and efficiency.
- Coordinating work across multiple initiatives to maintain an integrated and consistent approach to Epic implementation and support.

Department Overview Clinical Systems and Health Informatics are responsible for all aspects of the UCSF electronic health record software, Epic, also known as Apex (Advancing Patient-Centered Excellence) for UCSF hospitals, practices, affiliates and community partners. The Apex Professional Billing/Claims AffiliateTeam Lead will take a leadership role in collaborative work with other Apex application teams, clinical/business operations and guides to enhance and maintain the Epic electronic health record. The Team Lead oversees analysts and participates in providing excellent customer services to end users, tracking issues and follow up's as appropriate.
