Position Summary

The Preventive Maintenance (PM) Service Supervisor is responsible for serving as team lead for 8-12 PM technicians. This position is responsible for ensuring that customer needs are met at the highest level. The PM Service Supervisor will be responsible for scheduling PM services with our customers, dispatching PM Technicians, approving technician time, and ensure efficient operation of his/her respective region. The PM Service Supervisor will also review Cat Inspect reports and SOS results to help our customers make educated decisions regarding the health of their equipment. The PM Supervisor will also work with the region PM Administrator to open and close service calls, maintain the PM cue in AX, order parts for PM service calls, assign CAT Inspect inspection reports, and various other duties not specified related to the PM business.

Essential Responsibilities and Expectations


  • Coach and direct PM technicians
  • Monitor, improve, and maintain PM technician performance
  • Ensure Thompson meets Caterpillar goals and objectives for efficiency and CVA accuracy
  • Ensure proper planning of jobs, quoting, parts availability, and manpower
  • Effectively handle customer objections and concerns
  • Maintain proper dialog with customers to ensure proper scheduling
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and employee morale and take steps to improve both when necessary
  • Minimize customer downtime with accurate and efficient job planning
  • Effectively communicate with company personnel
  • Assign jobs and dispatch PM technicians efficiently


Qualifications

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

Minimum of 1 year previous business experience. Candidates must possess the ability to quickly acquire the following required Skills and Competencies.

Working Conditions

Work is normally performed in the office environment. Some work must be performed in the warehouse environment with limited exposure to physical risk. Some physical effort is required for this position.
