Salary range:
The base salary range for this position is $81,500 - $103,898. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. This position includes membership in the health science compensation plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation. Application Window Open date: May 18, 2026 Next review date: Thursday, Jun 18, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Tuesday, May 18, 2027 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at the University of California, Irvine is now accepting applications for a 1-year fellowship in Genitourinary (GU) pathology, starting July 2028. The fellowship provides training in all aspects of GU pathology with opportunities for clinical research. The GU service (more than 6,000 cases annually) includes full range of neoplastic and non-neoplastic conditions with special emphasis on prostate, kidney, bladder, testis, penis and even adrenal gland. The fellow participates in the sign-out of GU specimens, GU and general frozen sections and consultation cases. The position is structured for graduated responsibility to the level of junior faculty. There is active involvement in resident teaching and presenting at the bimonthly GU tumor board meetings during the fellowship. There is expectation to work on a clinical/translational GU research project to submit at national conference (USCAP, CAP). The fellowship does not participate in the Unified Approach and recruitment timeline for surgical pathology fellowship program.
