Job Summary

The Director of Digital Marketing Technology will lead and support key digital marketing technology platforms that power Journeys' customer engagement efforts. This role will focus on managing systems such as, but not limited to, Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Marigold's loyalty platform. In addition, this person will help oversee a variety of tech-related initiatives for the Ecommerce team, ensuring projects are delivered on time and meet business needs.

Responsibilities:

Digital Customer Experience Leadership

  • Oversee the daily operations, optimization, and integration of digital marketing technology platforms including Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Marigold Loyalty.
  • Act as the primary technology lead and project manager on digital initiatives, managing requirements gathering, timelines, vendor coordination, and stakeholder communication.
  • Manage new technology implementations for the Digital Commerce department that are not being managed corporately.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support campaign execution, data flow, and platform performance.
  • Collaborate with CRM, GCO analytics, website operations, digital advertising, digital CX and IT teams to ensure seamless data and technology alignment across platforms.
  • Monitor software and agreement usage levels/volumes to avoid unexpected costs related to variable contract pricing (i.e. storage capacity limits, email message usage volumes, etc) and/or to maximize contract value.
  • Identify and implement improvements in platform usage, automation, and customer experience delivery.
  • Stay up to date on emerging marketing technologies and advise on opportunities for adoption or enhancement.
  • Create documentation and processes to support scaling and knowledge sharing across the team.
  • Help identify opportunities for process automation to increase efficiency within the department.

Experience & Education

  • 10 years of experience in information technology, marketing technology, or a related field.
  • Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Marketing or a related field.
  • Proven experience with project management across multiple teams and platforms.
  • Strong understanding of CRM, loyalty, CDPs, and digital marketing technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud is required; experience with Marigold Loyalty and Stirista is a plus.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and project plans.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Skills & Competencies

  • Past experience leading projects using agile and traditional waterfall methodologies.
  • PMP or other project management certification a plus.
  • Experience working within an Ecommerce or retail organization.
  • Familiarity with APIs, data flows, system integrations and various software development methodologies.
  • Past experience with "hands on" software development, AMPscript, SQL, JavaScript, HTML/CSS and DNS management a plus.
  • Proven experience adapting to changing business needs, aligning efforts to business priorities.
