Position Summary:
The Center for Injury Biomechanics, Materials, and Medicine (CIBM3) invites applications for an immediate opening for a Post Doctoral Research Associate to carry out original research in blast-induced traumatic brain injury (bTBI). This position is funded by a New Jersey Commission on Brain Injury Research fellowship grant.

Essential Functions:
-The successful candidate will design and execute studies to identify the progression of inflammatory pathways that lead to the chronic neurocognitive deficits caused by repeated low-level blast injury.
-Researcher will analyze collected behavioral data and carry out image analysis
-Researcher will contribute to publications and reports related to the project's findings.
-Postdoc will mentor graduate and undergraduate students working on related projects.
-Postdoc will contribute to grant proposals and help secure future funding for the research program.
-Other duties as assigned.

Prerequisite Qualifications:
-Doctoral Degree in Bio-Medical Engineering.
-The successful candidate should have experience in
analyzing behavioral data, a solid understanding of biomedical engineering
concepts, molecular biology, and image analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a strong
interest in interdisciplinary research.
-At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.

Salary Information:
In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the negotiated starting annual salary for this position is $62,559.00 (USD). NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses or other items.
