THE POSITION

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a dedicated Clerical Assistant 2 who wants to make a positive impact in their community. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports daily office operations by completing clerical tasks that help staff serve the public effectively. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Office Support: Handle general clerical tasks that assist staff in delivering services
  • Data Entry: Enter information into systems with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Customer Interaction: Respond to visitors and callers in a polite and helpful manner
  • Document Processing: Sort, scan, and distribute mail, forms, and other materials for appropriate distribution
  • Record Management: Maintain files and retrieve information as needed to support office operations
  • Application Handling: Receive and process applications while following established policies and procedures

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Travel: As needed
  • Overtime: As needed
  • Shift work: No
  • Assigned duties are performed in a controlled office environment. In counties with District Offices, employees may be reassigned to different work sites due to operational needs. Reassignments will be made in compliance with contract language.

  • Telework: This position may be eligible to telework part time. Specific details of the telework schedule will be discussed during the interview process. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Fayette County. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy will be given to candidates who live within Fayette County. If no eligible candidates who live within Fayette County apply for this position candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
